Sagala Ratnayake and DM Swaminathan took oaths as Minister of Law and Order and Minister of Prison Reforms respectively, a short while ago.

These portfolios were vacated when Tilak Marapana resigned as Minister of Law and Order and Prison Reforms on Monday.

Ratnayake is the current Southern Development Minister and Swaminathan serves as the Minister of Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs.

Ratnayake was elected to Parliament in the August 17 General Election from Matara District. Swaminathan was appointed through the national list.
