The Disaster Management Centre stated earlier today that 79,085 people of 23, 519 families have been affected by the inclement weather conditions.

Meanwhile, one death was reported from Kilinochchi.

The Northern Province has been hit severely, with 11,000 families affected.

Nuwara-eliya, Badulla, Puttalam, Gampaha, Trincomalee and Matale districts were also affected.

Spill gates were opened in Iranamadu Tank and other smaller tanks were also overflowing as a result.
