PRECIFAC Proceedings On ITN Controversy Postponed

November 19, 2015

The proceedings of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC) on the alleged non-payment of money to the ITN were postponed till tomorrow.

Rajapaksa was scheduled to report to the commission today. However, he was not present at the proceedings. However, proceedings were postponed after his lawyers requested for some documents filed by the complainant.

Rajapaksa has already given a statement to PRECIFAC officers regarding the alleged non-payment of Rs. 115 million due to the ITN for election advertisement during the 2015 Presidential Election campaign. PRECIFAC officers recorded this statement at his residence on September 23. Rajapaksa also visited commission proceedings on several days last month.
