US Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power told media last evening that “the world is watching what his happening in Sri Lanka far more closely than what anyone of you can imagine.”

Speaking to media after talks with Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera, she pointed out that the changes that Sri Lanka had put in place in “a very complex and diverse political environment” had grabbed attention of other countries.

Samaraweera remarked that he and Ambassador Power discussed about the means and ways to work together to ensure that the people of this country benefit from new changes.

Power visited Jaffna today and met with Northern Province CM CV Wigneswaran.
