Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya today rejected a request made by former MP Sajin de Vass Gunawardena to revoke the ban on foreign travel imposed on him.
The Magistrate made this direction after considering objections raised by the Bribery Commission.
The commission officials opposed to revoking the ban, pointing out that the inquiry against Sajin de Vass Gunawardena involves foreign transactions.
Gunawardena, who recently went to Singapore on medical grounds, had been involved in other activities as well, the commission also said.
The Bribery Commission also said that the passport of Gunawardena's wife had also been impounded, as part of the investigations.
