UPFA MP Priyankara Jayaratne is likely to be sworn in as the State Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government, reports said.

Furthermore, a Cabinet reshuffle is expected in January with several SLFP MPs likely to be appointed to ministerial positions.

However, the exact portfolios to be given are still unclear.

Reports indicated that at least two top Cabinet portfolios will be changed.
