Singha FM, a radio channeled owned by CSN network linked to the Rajapaksa family, has been closed down temporarily.
Sources from the radio channel said it would be relaunched under another name soon and the company would retain the radio frequency allocated to Singha FM.
The company officially ended the Radio channel's transmission yesterday.
Singha FM was launched on February 03, 2012 and it was owned by VIS Broadcasting Company linked to some close associates of the former President and his family.
The media network's financial transactions were closely monitored by the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) as serious allegations had been levelled against the company.
Although the radio channel's political affiliations came under criticism from various quarters, Singha FM was widely hailed for the quality of its radio programmes and songs.
