Hirunika Facing Imminent Arrest: Evidence Suggests MP's Compliance In Abduction

UNP Parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra is facing imminent arrest, authoritative sources from the Attorney General's Department told Asian Mirror.

Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara said on Friday that a statement was also obtained from a 11 year old girl who was at the venue at the time of the incident. in her statement, the girl had revealed that the man who was abducted was presented before the UNP Parliamentarian. 

The girl's father, a suspect in the case, was also questioned on the advice of  the Attorney General. 

Sources from the AG department said evidence that has surfaced so far suggests the UNP Parliamentarian's compliance in the abduction. The investigation teams are also in the process of analysing telephone details of Premachandra and other suspects in the case. 

Court has ordered an identification parade  on eight suspects  who were remanded upon production by the CCD in connection with this abduction. 

A group of eight men who stormed to a shop in Dematagoda on December 21 abducted a employee in a defender which police later confirmed, belonged to UNP Colombo district parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra.
