Hirunika's Supporters Remanded Further: Identification Parade Re-scheduled

Eight supporters of UNP MP Hirunika Premachandra, who were in remand custody over the recent abduction of a youth in Dematagoda, were remanded further till January 6 by the Colombo Magistrate Court.

The identification parade, which was to be held today, was re-scheduled for January 6.

Meanwhile, the 5th suspect today said that he will not be giving a special statement to the Magistrate's Court today during the court hearing. He had earlier informed the court that he will be giving a special statement when the case is heard today.

The court was also informed of the recent investigations conducted by the Colombo Crimes Division. The court was told of the two statements obtained by one of the suspects and a 11-year-old child.
