Several Buddhist Monks Expected To Surrender To Police Over Homagama Protest

Several Buddhists monks are expected to surrender to police this morning over the recent protest at Homagama Magistrate's Court.

The protest occurred on January 26 when the Magistrate ordered Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera to be remanded till February 9 on several charges including contempt of court and threatening public officials.

Four people were arrested yesterday over the protest and remanded till February 9.

Sinhala Ravaya Chairman Akmeemana Dayarathana Thera are among those who intend ti surrender.
