Shiranthi Rajapaksa Arrives At PRECIFAC

Former first lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa arrived at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC) to give a statement regarding an alleged fraud at the National Housing Development Authority.

The incident involves the handover of a house belonging to the National Housing Development Authority to her Media Coordinating Secretary at less than the stipulated price.

It has been revealed that a house valued at a price of Rs. 5.5 million was offered to her coordinating secretary for Rs.500,000.

Wimal Weerawansa was the then Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities.

Shiranthi Rajapaksa was summoned by the PRECIFAC on January 25. However, she requested for another date through her legal representatives.
