Sri Lanka Condemns North Korean Rocket Launch

Sri Lanka condemned the launch of a long range missile by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on February 7, 2016.

In a statement, Sri Lanka's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called upon the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to abide by its international obligations and desist from any action that would adversely impact on the peace and security of the Korean Peninsula.

The rocket launch on February 7 was condemned by many regional powers and the US, and added sanctions were introduced against North Korea by Japan and South Korea among others.
