A 35-year-old mother of three from Kumbukkandura, Digana, was burned to death earlier today.

The victim, Mohammed Mutalib Fathima Siyara was suspected to be murdered by a relative living in a neighbouring house. The suspect had poured petrol on the victim and set her on fire. Police sources reported that suspect has fled the area.

A family dispute is thought to be the reason for the murder.

The alleged perpetrator Mohommed Rifaz is on bail for a different offence.

Theldeniya police conducts investigations to arrest the suspect.
