Inquiry On Navy Players For Armbands Supporting Yoshitha Rajapaksa

February 15, 2016

The Sri Lanka Navy is to carry out an inquiry into four players of the Navy Sports Club for wearing armbands in support of Yoshitha Rajapaksa.

The players wore armbands that had "YO07" written in them, to show solidarity with the club's captain.

They wore these bands during their rugby encounter at Diyagama Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium yesterday.

The four players have been suspended from the squad, pending investigations into the incident.

Navy won the match 32-30 over Sri Lanka Army.

Rajapaksa is in remand prison on alleged financial fraud at CSN.
