Two officers of the State Intelligence Service (SIS) had followed Jathika Bala Sena convener Watareka Vijitha Thera, after the court proceedings yesterday.
The court case was on the controversy involving the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) and the Jathika Bala Sena, which took place during a press conference held at Nippon Hotel, Colombo.
After yesterday's proceedings, Vijitha Thera had traveled from Slave Island to Fort, and two people, who came in a motorbike, had followed the vehicle.
Vijitha Threra had then complained to the Police about the two followers and the Police had questioned the two people subsequent to the Police.
During the questioning, it has been revealed that the two people were actually from the State Intelligence Service, attached to the Department of Police.
The BBS constantly accused Vijitha Thera of being a pawn of extremist Muslim organizations and foreign embassies operating in Colombo. The BBS also accuses Minister Rishad Bathiudeen of 'protecting' the Buddhist monk who is from Mahiyanganaya. He is also a member of the Mahiyanganaya Pradeshiya Sabha, representing the United People's Freedom Alliance.
