PRECIFAC Report On ITN Controversy To Be Sent To President Next Month

The Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC) report on the ITN controversy is expected to be presented to the President next month.

A copy of the report will also be forwarded to the Attorney General. Following this, possible legal action will be considered.

The controversy is related to the non payment of money to the ITN for advertisements during the 2015 Presidential Election campaign.

The PRECIFAC has finished obtaining preliminary evidence and started hearing evidence from the defence yesterday. It will continue today and next Thursday and Friday. On February 26, the hering of evidence is expected to be concluded.
