Four Monks To Be Produced Before Courts Over Homagama Protest

Four monks who surrendered to police over the protest at Homagama Magistrate's Court on January 26 will be produced before the Magistrate today.

They surrendered to the police yesterday.

Eleven people including six monks are already in remand prison over the protest.

The protest was held to oppose the decision to remand Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera.

The leader of the radical Buddhist organization was remanded over several charges including contempt of court. He was released on bail over the charges but is still in remand prison over threatening Sandhya Eknaligoda, the wife of disappeared journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda.
