Government's Narrative On Thajudeen's Death Keeps On Changing, Says Wimal Weerawansa

The government's narrative regarding the death of former Havelock's Sports Club Captain Wasim Thajudeen keeps on changing, National Freedom Front leader Wimal Weerawansa said today.

Speaking at a press conference, Weerawansa said that the government first created a narrative by which it was claimed that Yoshitha Rajapaksa was involved due to a dispute over a young woman. However, once it was apparent that Yoshitha was abroad at the time, they have changed the narrative and involved his elder brother Namal Rajapaksa, Weerawansa claimed.

Now the government is claiming that Namal Rajapaksa was opposed to Thajudeen for his opposition to an apparent takeover of the Havelock's SC by the Rajapaksas, Weerawansa said.

Meanwhile Yoshitha Rajapaksa was said to have been involved in the alleged incidents at CSN and was arrested, Weerawansa claimed.
