Trinity College, Kandy, Considers Admission Of Student Denied School Due To HIV Rumors

Trinity College, Kandy, is considering the possibility of enrolling the student from Kuliyapitiya who was denied a school due to false rumor of HIV/AIDS.

Some past pupils of the school took the initiative in obtaining the approval from the school administration to allow the student enter the school and finish his education there.

The possibility is currently being discussed with the school authorities, some past pupils involved in the project said on Facebook.

The child from Kuliyapitiya was denied a school due to the parents of other students, who protested on the grounds that the child had contacted HIV/AIDS.

However, medical reports have established that the child does not have HIV.

The child's mother yesterday filed a Fundamental Rights petition seeking a school for her child within two miles of her residence.
