A group of people at Rathupaswala today protested against the arrival of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa for a meeting in the area. The people asked if Rajapaksa was arriving to see the healed wounds of the villagers. Three people were killed and others wounded in a shooting by the army at Weliveriya on August 1, 2013, during a protest by villagers who were demanding for clean water. (Pic Lankadeepa)
