Following the appointment of a new Selections Committee headed by Aravinda de Silva, a major reshuffle was announced in Sri Lanka's T20 squad, on the day the team is to depart for India for the T20 World Cup.

Accordingly, Angelo Mathews will captain the side and Dinesh Chandimal will be the Vice Captain.

Lahiru Thirimanne and Suranga Lakmal are back in the team while Jeffrey Vandersay and Niroshan Dikwella have been dropped.

Lasith Malinga, who stepped out of the captaincy, has been also included in the squad.
