A power failure has affected several areas in the country, including parts of the Southern Province, due to a disruption of the line from Laxapana to Balangoda.

This occurred just ten days after a mojor power breakdown disrupted power to the country, in what was the worst blackout in 20 years.

Power was fully restored only last Friday.
