Weerawansa Hits Out At Defence Secretary For Comparing Explosives To "Old Goods"

National Freedom Front leader Wimal Weerawansa today hit out at Defence Secretary Karunasena Hettiarachchi for referring to the explosives and suicide jacked 'discovered at Chavakachcheri as outdated 'old goods'.

Speaking at a press conference today, Weerawansa pointed out that the explosives were wrapped in a Sinhalese newspaper. The date of the newspaper could be determined from which one can find if these "goods" were hidden recently or not, Weerawansa said.

He also asked if the five sim cards located were also old goods.

Commenting further, Weerawansa claimed that certain discoveries of explosives have gone unreported.

"How much more 'old goods' are needed for the Defence Secretary to realize the threat to national security?" Weerawansa also asked.
