Japanese National Transferred Bangladesh Money To Shalika Foundation: CID

The CID told Colombo Magistrate Courts yesterday that a Japanese national named Sasaki Thadasi has allegedly transferred funds amounting to US Dollars 20 million to a Shalika Foundation account at Pan Asia Bank.

This was informed to Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya during the Magisterial Inquiry into the hacking of a Bangladesha Central Bank account and transfer of money to an account of the Shalika Foundation.

According to information revealed, Thadasi had called the foundation in January and instructed them to open an account. Funds were transferred on February 4.

The funds have been transferred to the Shalika Foundation for rural electrification project and was claimed to be coming from the JICA.
