The New Year dawns at 7.48.p.m. on Wednesday 13th April.

The Punya Kalaya begins at 1.24 p.m. on 13th Wednesday and ends at 2.12 a.m. on 14th Thursday.

The auspicious time for lighting the Hearth and preparing meal falls at 8.06 p.m. on 13th Wednesday. The tradition of transacting and consuming the first meal of the New Year is to be done at 8.54 p.m. on the same day.
