The CID has been assigned to investigate into the theft of firearms that happened early this morning from the Laggala Police Station.

An unidentified person entered the police station and made off with a T-56 and five pistols at about 2.00 a.m.

Four police personnel have been on duty at the time. Police is investigating if they were under the influence of alcohol at the time.

Statements have been already recorded from them.
