Leader of the Opposition in Parliament R. Sampanthan stated that the Tamil National Alliance strongly oppose the government’s action of providing 818 acres of land from Sampur for proposed Indian Thermal Power Plant.

Sampanthan made this observation during a press conference held at Kopay, yesterday.

The MP stated that they would negotiate with the government and provide all land which was acquired by the government, to public.

He stated that every government until now has served arbitrary in obtaining public lands in Northern and Eastern provinces. The times have come to stop this actions immediately, he stressed.
