Thajudeen Murder: Former Narahenpita Crimes OIC Remanded Till May 5

Former Narahenpita Crimes OIC Sumith Perera, who was arrested by the CID yesterday with regards to the murder of former Sri Lanka rugby player Wasim Thajudeen, was remanded till May 5 by Colombo Additional Magistrate Tilina Gamage.

The Magistrate also allowed him to be kept under special protection since he is a police officer.

Perera was arrested yesterday by the CID over concealing information on the murder.

It has been revealed earlier that Inspector Sumith Perera summoned the father of Wasim Thajudeen to the Narahenpita Police station on May 17, 2012 prior to producing him before DIG Anura Senanayake.
