UNP Pathadumbara Organiser Resigns Ahead Of May Day Rally

UNP organiser of Pathadumbara electorate Harindra Dunuwila resigned from his position.

Informed Party sources said Dunuwila, a relative of the late Dudley Senanayake, had sent his letter of resignation to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The organiser had resigned from the position on the basis that he was not in a position to serve his electorate without an MP or a Provincial Councillor post.

A lawyer by profession, Dunuwila is a former Parliamentarian and a State Minister. He is also a former Mayor of Kandy.

Dunuwila had told his supporters that he did not have money or resources to provide transport and refreshment to party supporters attending the UNP's May Day rally.

The party leadership has directed electorate organisers to arrange at least four buses from every polling division for the UNP May Day rally.
