President Hints At Tough Political Decisions After May 1

President Maithripala Sirisena today said that several key political decisions will be taken after May 1.

Addressing an event in Medirigiriya in Polonnaruwa District, he said that they will be for the benefit of the people and country.

The SLFP has already announced that it will take disciplinary action against senior party members defying instructions and attending the May Day Rally of the Joint Opposition on May 1.

However, it was unclear if the President's comments has any reference to a possible move by the SLFP.

A number of SLFP stalwarts including former President Mahinda Rajapaksa have indicated that they will be at the Joint Opposition May Rally on May 1.
