Mano Ganesan Reveals How He Gave CBK's Message To Prabhakaran (VIDEO)

Sri Lankan Minister and leader of the Tamil Progressive Alliance Mano Ganesan recently revealed his role in communicating a message from the then President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunge to the LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran.

Speaking at an event recently, he said that this happened following the dissolution of the then UNF government.

Kumaratunga had called Ganesan and asked for his message to be communicated to Prabhakaran. he wanted to tell her that she wanted to continue with the peace process, Ganesan said.

"Ranil [Wickremesinghe] holds talks in the way he wants. I'll do it my way" Kumaratunga told Ganesan according to him.

He added that he complied with her request and met Prabhakaran to convey her message. This was the first meeting he had with Prabhakaran, Ganesan also said.

Peace processes in the past failed because they were done in the upper echelons of power while the general public was ignorant of the true happenings, Ganesan said. Therefore, there was distrust among the general public regarding the peace processes, he added.
