Thajudeen Murder: Former IGP Responsible For Suppressing Investigation, Claims Senasinghe (VIDEO)

The former IGP was also responsible for the undermining the investigations into the murder of former Sri Lanka rugby player Wasim Thajudeen, State Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe said.

Speaking at a recent function, Senasinghe claimed that the former IGP was aware of the parties responsible for the murder. Judicial steps should be taken against him and other responsible police officers, the State Minister further maintained.

Senasinghe claimed that the Rajapaksa family was responsible for the murder and all who are responsible will eventually be brought before courts.

The government could not remove officials appointed during Rajapaksa-era overnight, Senasinghe also said, explaining why investigations were seemingly moving slowly. "Now we have a good IGP and a good AG. Things have started to move" he added.
