Government Declares May 23 As Public Holiday

The government has decided to declare May 23 as a public holiday. 

The Home Affairs Ministry has made the decision as the Vesak full moon poya day falls on May 21, Saturday. 

However, the Home Affairs ministry sources said May 23 might not be a mercantile  holiday. 

However, the government did not declare today (May 02) as a public holiday, following the international workers day.
