The train services between Rambukkana and Kadugannawa along the upcountry line was terminated due to a derailment of a train between Balana and Ihala-kotte stations.

The Kandy-Colombo Intercity train, which was to depart Kandy at 3p.m. was also cancelled.

The railway control room said that measures will be taken to restore train services swiftly.
