All schools in the country will be closed tomorrow due to the inclement weather situation, Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said a short while ago.

Schools were already closed yesterday and today across a number of districts.

Over 300,000 people have been evacuated to safe locations as 19 out of 25 districts were affected by the inclement weather during the last few days.

Many schools which had been open today reported a very low attendance of teachers and students.
