India Sends Two Naval Boats For Relief Efforts In Sri Lanka

India is dispatching Naval ships to assist Sri Lanka which has been devastated by incessent rains and flooding over the last few days.

Defence Ministry sources said on Friday that two Naval ships, one Naval Off Shore Patrol (NOPV) INS Sunayna and one survey ship INS Sutlej, are being sent to Colombo from Southern Naval Command in Kochi.

 

"INS Sutlej has already embarked with relief material and INS Sunayana will leave shortly," sources said.

A tropical cyclone, Ronau, hit Sri Lankan coast three days back causing massive flooding and mudslides leaving scores dead and displacing over a hundred thousand people.
