The water released from purification plants in Ambatale and Biyagama are fit for consumption, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board said.

There was a threat to Ambatale from rising waters yesterday, but the threat has now subsided. The navy has been taking measures to protect the power plant from yesterday.

The water level in flooded areas have subsided in some areas of the Kelani basin.
