The Cyclonic storm ‘ROANU’ in the Bay of Bengal is now located about 950km north-east of Kankasanturai and it is moving further away from the island, the Met Department said.

Showers are expected to reduce in the next two days, the department further said.

However, spells of showers will occur in North-Western, Western, Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle, Matara districts. Showers or thunder showers are expected at a few places in the Eastern province during afternoons.

Strong windy conditions over the country and in the sea around the island are expected to reduce gradually.
