Department of Prisons said that 540 prison inmates from prisons Island wide are to be granted Presidential pardon today in view of the Vesak Poya Day.

The Department’s Media Spokesperson T.N. Upuldeniya said that 540 prisoners who were convicted for minor offences will be released.
