South-West Monsoon Gradually Establishing Over Island

The Meteorology Department today said that South-West Monsoon was gradually establishing over the island resulting in rains in the Western, North-Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, and Central Provinces.

Thunder showers were predicted to occur at a few areas in the Eastern Province in afternoons.

“Strong winds over the islands and in the sea areas around the island will continue, particularly over the Northern, Eastern, and Southern sea areas", the Department said.
