Castlereigh Reservoir Approaches Spill Level

The Castlereigh Reservoir, built along the Kehelgamu Oya, is approaching spill levels, the CEB said.

The water levels were below 3 inches of the spill level earlier this morning as a result of heavy rains to the western slopes of the Central Highlands.

Kehelgamu Oya is a tributary of the Kelani River.

Meanwhile, the Maussakele Reservoir was also seeing an increase in water levels.

The CEB said that hydroelectricity production in Canyon, Laxapana, New Laxapana, Polpitiya and Wimalasurendra power plants have reached to the maximum due to the abundance of water.
