Warrant Issued On Roger Seneviratne Over Protest Against UNHRC Chief

Colombo Magistrate's Court today issued a warrant on Roger Seneviratne for not appearing at the court hearing on the protest held near the UN Office in Colombo on February 6 this year.

National Freedom Front leader Wimal Weerawansa and six others, including Seneviratne, have been charged for obstructing traffic and using loudspeakers without prior permission during a protest held to oppose the visit by UNHRC Chief Zeid bin Ra'ad Al-Hussein in February.

Seneviratne failed to appear in court and did not inform a reason for his failure.

Meanwhile the Cinnamon Gardens Police told court that charge sheets will be filed against the NFF members over the protest.
