Deputy Minister Palitha Thewarapperuma climbed on top of his vehicle to hold discussions with a group of protesting students at the Sabaragamuwa University.
Thewarapperuma arrived there this morning for the opening of a cultural centre. However, the students obstructed him and prevented him from reaching the opening ceremony.
The deputy minister climbed on top of his vehicle and started discussions with the students, saying that problems should be resolved through discussion.
The students insisted that there were serious matters other than opening cultural centres to be done in the university.
