Speaking at the launch of his book "Praveshamen, Mulya Aagadhayak Idiriyen" (Caution! Fiscal Cliff Ahead) yesterday at the Sri Lanka Foundation, Ranawaka said that the investigations have not yet been concluded into the alleged bond scam, which has negatively affected the country's financial markets.

Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran is accused of being allegedly involved in a bond scam regarding the bond issue on February 27, 2015. Several groups, including some which support the government, are demanding that he is not granted a service extension after his term expires on June 30.

The Anti-Corruption Front yesterday filed a writ petition at the Court of Appeal against Mahendran holding office. Meanwhile the Puravesi Balaya organization recently disclosed that the Prime Minister agreed not to reappoint Mahendran till investigations conclude.
