Police Narcotics Bureau officials shot at a vehicle which sped off despite being ordered to stop, in Ambagashathara, Pannipitiya, this morning.

The police ordered it to stop on the suspicion that it was transporting illegal drugs. However, despite the shots fired at the tires, the vehicle managed to escape.

It is suspected that the vehicle belongs to a drug smuggler in Magazine Road, Borella.
