The university non-academic staff have decided to launch a two day token strike on July 13 and 14 based on seven demands.

The Inter University Employees' Trade Union Federation Co-chairman Edward Malwattage said that the Higher Education Ministry and the University Grants Commission have been informed of these demands well in advance.

The decision to launch a strike was taken considering the lack of response from the government, he said.
