Namal Rajapaksa Remanded Till July 18

UPFA MP Namal Rajapaksa was remanded till July 18 by Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne over a financial fraud case amounting to Rs 70 million.

Rajapaksa was arrested by the FCID earlier in the day over the irregularities in the expenditure of funds given by the Krrish company for the development rugby in the country.

Fort Magistrate Jayaratne directed that the details on the alleged irregularity submitted to the court by police was insufficient to remand Rajapaksa. However, he was remanded on the grounds that he could interfere with the witnesses since the investigation was still underway.
