Thajudeen Murder: Probe Launched On Telephone Calls Originating From Presidential Secretariat

The CID today informed Colombo Magistrate Courts that an investigation has been launched on telephone calls from numbers of the Presidential Secretariat to the then Narahenpita OIC on the day of the murder.

This was informed when the Magisterial inquiry into the Thajudeen murder was taken up before Colombo Additional Magistrate Mohamad Mihal.

The CID also said two of their officers will be flying to Canada on August 21 regarding the report of the CCTV records.

Senior DIG Anura Senanayake and former Narahenpita Crimes OIC Sumith Priyantha, who are in remand custody over the murder, were further remanded till August 10.
