Emirates Jet Crash-lands In Dubai, Engulfed In Flames (VIDEO)

An Emirates plane has caught fire on a runway at Dubai International Airport after crash-landing.

Emirates said flight EK521 was involved in an "accident" that occurred at 12:45pm local time (08:45 GMT) on Tuesday, but failed to provide further details.

Photos on social media show smoke billowing from the aircraft.

The plane, which arrived at the airport from Thiruvananthapuram, India, crash-landed, the Dubai government's media office said on its official Twitter account.

Passengers were evacuated and there have so far been no reports of injuries, according to the media office.

An airport spokesperson also said that all passengers and crew were safely evacuated, according to Reuters.

Emirates wrote on its official Twitter account that 275 passengers and crew were on board, and that the airline's priority is "the safety and well-being of all involved."

All take-offs and landings at the airport have been suspended, according to the Twitter account of live air traffic monitor Flightradar24.

The Dubai government has confirmed that all take-offs have been suspended from the airport, but failed to mention the status of arriving aircraft.

The plane involved is a Boeing 777-300 A6-EMW aircraft, according to Flightradar24.
