Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera today complained to the National Film Corporation against the "Ho Gaana Pokuna" film and requested it to block the release of the film in DVD or other formats in future.

Gnanasara Thera said that the film has misinterpreted a saying by the Buddha, misleading the public in a subtle manner.

A child character in the movie has been used to make this misinterpretation, which is even more serious, he added.

Gnanasara Thera said that in the past, the Buddhist Sangha had been shown the movies prior to their release in the theatres. This practice has been discontinued, he added.
